“Whenever men are to pray to God concerning any great matter, it would be expedient to appoint fasting along with prayer.”
–John Calvin
God advances His mission as His people gather to pray and fast. In Acts 13, as the church in Antioch prayed and fasted together, the Spirit of God directed the church to send out Paul and Barnabas on what would become Paul’s first mission to the Gentiles.
At Restoration Church, we are dedicating this year's season of Lent to global missions. If you are unfamiliar, Lent is the season in the traditional church calendar of the forty days that lead up to Easter. It is an invitation to self-reflection and self-denial as we consider the road to Calvary that our Savior, Jesus Christ, walked. Our hope is not only would this produce a type of hunger for God and holiness, but also for God to move in and through us for the purposes of advancing the gospel in global missions. During our pastoral prayer each of the six Sundays, we will walk through prayer prompts for the two identified people groups. Our desire is that the Spirit of God will stir our hearts to pray for open doors of engagement and gospel transformation.
We have linked to our Lent bookmark above that gives prayer prompts for global missions. Below are some resources that we hope will encourage you as we seek the Lord together. We recognize that the concept of a biblical fast might be new to some. If this is you, consider reading the “Fasting for Beginners” article (from Desiring God) linked under the Fasting Resources below.

Night of Prayer & Worship
Feb 25, 5 - 6:30pm
At Restoration Church, we are dedicating the month of February to pray and fast together. The hope is that God would grant us greater dependence upon Him and greater unity with one another as we draw near to Him in prayer. We are looking forward to spending an evening together to take intentional time to sing together and pray with and for one another.
